The J-IW5S is a dual-band (2.4 & 5 GHz) Wi-Fi antenna which connects directly to the XR routers.  We recommend a direct-connection antenna such as the J-IW5S when Wi-Fi communication will be taking place entirely within the vehicle (e.g. between an in-vehicle router and other on-board mobile devices).

Description

The J-IW5S antenna is a ground plane independent antenna covering 2.4 / 5.0GHz. Designed as an ‘on device’ antenna, the J-IW5S features an articulated FAKRA connector that offers great flexibility for optimum antenna positioning, with a sleek profile for low visual impact.

The J-IW5S normally allows a router to communicate with external networks or devices that are close to the vehicle, but for longer range communication and better performance an external antenna is recommended.
