Emo, Ireland's leading heating oil distributor, has taken delivery of another 30 on-truck computers from In-CarPC, following the successful completion of a trial of 5 devices lasting several months.
Des Phelan, Emo's Fleet Manager, said "In-CarPC's computers convincingly proved their worth during the trial and it was an easy decision to roll the devices out to the rest of our fleet in Ireland."
By working closely with our software partner, CDS Computer Design Systems, each computer was pre-configured with "Deliverer," the mobile extension of CODAS, the market-leading software system for oil and LP gas distributors, giving Emo immediate and hassle-free out-of-the-box deployment.
The Deliverer on-truck system – suitable for both oil and LPG delivery vehicles – uses our C1 series PC which is in constant contact with the CODAS back-office system using its built-in 3G modem. Orders are received automatically by Deliverer, which allows drivers to browse their workloads, produce loading authority documentation, print priced or unpriced delivery tickets and control on-board stock. All this information, including vehicles' current locations (and, in a forthcoming development, telematics data), is shared with planners back at the office in real-time.
Emo is part of DCC Energy, the leading home heating oil supplier in Ireland and the UK.
