An In-CarPC device will be present on the CODAS stand at the 2013 FPS Expo, the annual event for the oil distribution industry in the UK and Ireland. CODAS is the market-leading software system for the oil and LP gas distributor, handling the complete range of business activities including prospecting for business, customer and sales management, boiler maintenance, fuelcard management, vehicle scheduling, purchasing and stock control.
As well as a full financial suite, CODAS also incorporates mobile extensions for delivery drivers (Deliverer), boiler maintenance engineers (I&M) plus a web-based interface for customers, suppliers and third party delivery agents.
As a key tool in providing increased transparency and efficiency of users’ vehicle fleets, CODAS Deliverer has been running on In-CarPC in-vehicle hardware platforms since 2011.
The Deliverer on-truck system – suitable for both oil and LPG delivery vehicles – uses our C1 series PC, which is in constant communication with the CODAS back-office system using its built-in 3G / GPRS modem. Orders are received automatically by Deliverer, which allows drivers to browse their workloads, produce loading authority documentation, print priced or unpriced delivery tickets, collect payments and control on-board stock. All this information, including vehicles’ current locations (and, in a new development, telematics data), is shared with planners back at the office in real-time.
The FPS Expo will include at least two of our in-vehicle PC systems, one on the CODAS stand itself and another fully installed into a brand new MAN TGM oil delivery truck kindly provided by CODAS customer WCF Fuels North West.
The FPS Expo takes place on 17 and 18 April at the Harrogate International Centre. For more information about CODAS please visit www.codas.co.uk.
