3G & Wireless Vehicle Routers
A 3G vehicle router is a reliable way of connecting our computers to the internet, and routers with wireless functionality can also allow Wi-Fi enabled laptops or PDAs to access the internet from within the vehicle.
|
A vehicle based wireless router can let any Wi-Fi equipped laptop, PDA or mobile phone access the internet from within the vehicle while travelling. Multiple devices can connect to the router at the same time, allowing several laptops or PDAs to access the router’s internet connection simultaneously. Devices on the network can also communicate directly with each other, so that network tasks such as file and print sharing can be carried out.

The routers we supply are high quality, robust devices that include built-in technology to maintain a persistent and reliable 3G internet connection wherever possible. The routers automatically connect to the internet as soon as they are powered on, and once installed should never need to be physically accessed.

How it works (Wi-Fi versions)
Connecting to the vehicle's router is just as easy as connecting to any other wireless network. The laptop owner simply uses Windows' built-in wireless networking utility to search for nearby networks, and then chooses the vehicle network from the list that appears.

The router will initially be supplied with open access, allowing any Wi-Fi enabled device to connect to the network, but WEP or WPA(2) encryption can easily be activated so that a pass code is required before a device can connect.
