Our computers can provide state-of-the-art CCTV recording and monitoring facilities. We can connect up to 16 cameras to a single vehicle PC, allowing complete coverage of both the interior and exterior of the vehicle. With large capacity internal hard drives, our computers can store weeks of footage at any one time.

However, the true advantage of using a PC for vehicle CCTV recording becomes apparent if the vehicle PC is networked (normally via a 3G modem - please see our 3G internet page for more information). The PC can stream live video footage of the CCTV cameras in the vehicle to any internet-enabled PC. This allows security personnel to view the real-time output of any CCTV camera in the vehicle from anywhere in the world. Video footage can also be recorded to a remote PC, ensuring that the evidence will survive even if the vehicle or onboard PC do not.

Various record modes are available, including:

  • Continuous record - footage is recorded all the time. If the disk becomes full the program can re-use disk space by overwriting the oldest footage (which, with a large hard drive, could be from as long ago as several weeks)
  • Motion Detection record - footage from a given camera is only recorded when motion is detected. Footage from 30 seconds prior to motion being detected and 30 seconds after can also be recorded, in order to capture the build-up and aftermath of an event that triggered the motion detector.
  • Schedule record - footage is recorded during preset times

Other features include being able to set email status alerts, embedding a date & time stamp, and inserting a watermark to prevent the video file being altered. Our computers can transfer data to a very wide range of removable media, as well as via Wi-Fi or a wired network, making it an easy process to copy footage from the PC's hard drive to an external device.

We can install our computers and associated CCTV equipment into any vehicle, including buses, coaches, trucks, lorries and vans.

On a related topic, our PCs can also be used to monitor home and office security systems that provide web-based monitoring access, allowing you to keep up-to-date with your system's security status wherever you are.
