2.5" 5400 RPM drives available in 160, 250, 320 and 500 GB sizes, all with 8 MB cache. Drives can withstand up to 350 G operating shock.

SSD drives available in 8, 16 and 32 GB sizes. All SSD drives that we use in our computers use SLC type memory, which provides enhanced reliability and performance compared to MLC type SSD drives.

We can also provide higher capacity drives and 7200 RPM drives upon request.

Operating System:

Windows XP Professional (SP3)* or Windows 7 Professional
Other operating systems (including Linux and XP Embedded) available on request

*Windows XP Professional will continue to be available preinstalled on our PCs until 2016.

Dimensions:

ICPC-1 chassis (not including optional anti-vibration mounting platform):
Width: 19.4 cm (21.4 cm including mounting flanges at base)
Length: 25.2 cm
Height: 7.5 cm

ICPC-3 chassis (not including optional anti-vibration mounting platform):
Width: 21.9 cm (23.9 cm including mounting flanges at base)
Length: 25.3 cm
Height: 8.4 cm

ICPC-4 chassis (not including optional anti-vibration mounting platform):
Width: 23.3 cm
Length: 33 cm (35 cm including mounting flanges at base)
Height: 7.3 cm

Power Supply:

Internal intelligent automotive power supply:

  • PC automatically turns on and off with vehicle ignition
  • Supports the use of Standby as well as Shut Down and Hibernate (jumper selectable)
  • Compatible with 12V and 24V vehicles
  • Normal input voltage: 7.5V to 30V
  • Peak input voltage: 7V to 36V
  • Idle power consumption <3mA
  • High efficiency for extended battery life
  • PC will not reboot during engine cranking
  • Protection against transients and load dumps
  • Reverse polarity protection
  • Automatic shutdown with low battery
  • 15A automotive mini blade input fuse
  • Regulated 12V accessory output* for powering peripherals (up to 1.5A for 12V vehicles, up to 1A for 24V vehicles)
  • Remote output for turning on and off an external device, such as an amplifier. By default this output will activate approximately 1 second after the PC turns on, and deactivate before the PC turns off. If this output is used to control an amplifier then no "thump" noise will be heard over the vehicle speakers when the PC turns on and off. The behaviour of this output can be configured at order time.
  • Configurable shut-down delay. The time between the ignition being turned off and the PC powering down can be changed using externally accessible jumpers.
  • Configurable start-up and shut-down voltages to reflect the fact that battery levels and conditions vary between vehicles
  • Wake on LAN compatible. The PC can be woken up for up to 20 minutes at a time without the ignition being turned on.
  • Hard Power Off. In the event of a software crash during shut down the power will be cut to prevent draining of the vehicle battery
  • Post-boot lock-down. If the ignition is turned off having only just been turned on, a delay will be applied before issuing the shut down command, in order to allow the PC to fully boot before attempting to shut down.
  • Ignition input behaviour is configurable. By default the PC will turn on when the ignition input is active, and remain on until the ignition input is no longer active, at which point the PC will shut down. Alternatively the ignition input can be set to respond to a pulse, so that the PC can be turned on and off using a standard on/off push switch. This behaviour can be configured at order time.
  • LED indicates PC status and assists with troubleshooting.
  • Majority of power supply options are configured using externally accessible jumpers.
  • Modified PSU firmware can be loaded for customers with special requirements - please contact us for more information.

*12V accessory output not available on N4 series
